Yes, it has been a long time since my last post. For the past few months, I have been taking a needed break, learning about myself and the direction I will be going with my work. As an artist, it is important to remained inspired as well as keep everything balanced. I am starting this post as a fresh dedication to my work and commitment to blogging better in 2010.

Happy New Year everyone. This holiday season was busy and filled
with wonderful memories. Relational giving was a big part of those memories.
For Christmas, a way for us to show our love is to give the gift of " time "
and a relational gift. Obviously, photography is my favorite way to give.
As life and time fly by, I was again reminded of the priceless value life photography has. You can never get back time or past memories. Everyday I wake up and wonder what happened to yesterday and the day before? I want 2010 to be filled with relational giving and better documenting of our life with friends and family.

Age:26
Location: Home
Employment: Oregon Air Force
Service: Nine yearsAs many of you know, my wife
Rebekah just returned from being out of state in Knoxville, Tennessee for a six
week training school at McGhee Tyson ANG base. This is a Non-Commissioned
Officers Academy school. During her time there she was nominated and received
The John L. Levitow Award, which is the highest honor awarded a graduate of any
Air Force enlisted professional military education course. Unlike her past
weapons training and field exercises, this training was all classroom,
test-taking and leadership development.
Rebekah is an amazing hard-working student. Although the time a part was difficult and slow going I am happy she went. I couldn't be more proud of her and all her accomplishments.
Rebekah, you are the most gorgeous badass!

Where to begin? So much has happened this year and it's still not over. Well, my wedding season has wrapped up but my personal portrait work is far from over. 2009 was hard work and amazing. I traveled twice internationally for weddings and couldn't have been more thankful. Here is my list of what I learned and will always be learning.
Patience
Always stay humble
Be yourself and never copy anyone
Seek growth in your art and perspective
Inspiration comes from so many outside
elements
Be content and keep it simple
This year I really felt like I started
settling into my skin. I feel like I have better direction for what I am doing
and going after. This changes from time to time as it should. My gifts lie on
the creating side and less on the business side so I'm eager to better develop
these skills in 2010.
Not being boxed in and categorized as a
specific type of photographer is one direction you can take as an artist. Or
you can stick to one genre as photographer. Both are just fine, it just depends
on the person and their style. This year I am field testing this and branching
out into more commercial and advertising work. My passion will always stay
within portrait photography that conveys emotion and a story but I love the
challenge and different ideas that commercial work presents.
Over the next year I will be working on a larger personal portrait project that I am very excited about and will have more details as the next year unfolds.

ok...wow...I am really enjoying your prints. I love your use of space.
